Project Manager – Shipbuilding

In Australia, we operate a select, highly skilled, internationally diverse engineering team, providing engineering and design advisory services to Australia’s naval programs. Our team holds expertise across naval architecture, marine engineering, nuclear engineering, safety and security, systems engineering, integrated logistics support, engineering consulting and acquisition program management.

Job Title: Project Manager – Shipbuilding

Location: East coast of Australia – hybrid work conditions with occasional travel

We require multiple Shipbuilding Project Managers for a number of opportunities in the maritime design and construction field.


  • Management of concept design through to detail design and construction drawings
  • Contract, Tender, and Construction documentation
  • Development of program business case
  • Stakeholder management
  • Management of WHS legislation requirements
  • Program Schedule, Cost and Quality
  • Program Risk Management
  • Program reporting


Mandatory Skills

  • Experience in delivery of complex programs in the maritime environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills in:
    • Safety management
    • Schedule, Cost, and Quality management
    • Team management incl. contracted service providers
    • Risk management
    • Program reporting
  •  Excellent communication skills

Desired skills 

  • Experience in delivering project management services for vessel design and construction.
  • Experience managing vessel construction under survey
  • Certified Project Manager with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

Security Requirements

  • Hold or ability to obtain at minimum a Baseline security clearance with an NV1 preferable.
  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, as per Australian Government guidelines ( )
  • Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening.
