Job Title: Radiation Protection Adviser
Location: Canberra, Australia
General Description
We are looking for a Radiation Protection Advisor with significant experience managing radiation protection issues in the nuclear industry. The position requires experience managing radiation protection issues across nuclear facility planning, construction, safety & security, sustainment, and related infrastructure.
Key Tasks of Position
Support the client in provision of technical advice in relation to radiation protection
Ability to offer advice on nuclear radiation protection management
Analysis and adapting of infrastructure to support nuclear infrastructure
Advise on radioactive waste management systems
Develop policy to comply with regulatory requirements
Relationship building and the ability to think strategically, influence, and communicate in multi-national teams are essential attributes
Desired skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (nuclear, mechanical, electrical, systems or civil), or at least 5+ years’ professional experience in Radiation Protection in a position of responsibility.
Experience in nuclear submarine engineering and related infrastructure is an advantage
Security Requirements
Hold at minimum a Baseline security clearance with an NV1 preferable.
Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, as per Australian Government guidelines (https://www.health.gov.au/ )
Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening.
